Terrorist group Al Qaeda's selection of former number 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri as its new leader was confirmed this morning when detonation of a suicide bomber sent up white smoke.
Previous suicide bombers had sent up black smoke, signalling a deadlock in the process . . . .
