But over the last six months I have become an independent because frankly, they're all idiots. And please -- don't suggest that I join the tea party movement. I have an IQ over 50, making membership an impossibility.
And -- as usual -- the comedian is the one who gets it right.

They're not idiots. They're smart enough to know they're paid to act like fools.
The compilation of sex scandal flip-flops was a nice public service by TDS writers.
I suppose the bright side is that our country has managed to survive for 200+ years in spite of the fact that, typically, idiots are running the country. I think it's just a bit more depressing these days because we are all so keenly aware of precisely the grade of idiots we have in charge.
I will not suggest that you join anything after that mind blowing sequence. Tx for the explanation, I could never figure it out.
Well stated.
My problem is I am a Rockefeller Republican but they don't exist anymore although i hear there are sightings
in Maine....
HaHa, I just wish it were all fake like wrestling. I think the problem is that human beings evolved from our caveman days with tribalistic instincts for survival. That is, I band together with my tribe and fight to the death with all other tribes. Throughout history, be it religion, race, borders, culture - the most ridiculous is the Tutsis vs the Hutus (one is tall the other is short). The battles between Republicans and Democrats have nothing to do with facts and solving problems - it just they view everything through their tribalism.
For the record I consider myself a Bruce Bartlett Republican, but like him I am far more critical of Republicans right now.
